The triangles by law are not needed in the US, however other parts of the world require a triangle and first aid kit. My benz in Europe has both as well as the factory fire extinguisher under the driver's seat... which are required here by law. I have a triangle in my 560 back home and I also have a rare mercedes 7 liter reserve jerrycan which is designed to fit inside the wheel of the spare wheel.
