If diff oil had not been changed for years, could it affect the ABS sensor in the differential on a 1992 300D? If some metallic residues from wear are dissolved in oil, I'm thinking it could be the reason for causing a "false" wheel stop detection in my rear ABS...

Any thoughts?

I'll change the oil anyhow and make sure I've got the fill plug loosened and removed first before I drain it down!

Bye
