When I was 21-24 and living in the City I had a similar problem of finding balance between my responsibilities and my need for pleasure and relaxation.
Granted,at that time I had a helluva lot more energy, thought I knew everything about my business and could successfully juggle my life careerwise and personally,my solutions became a habit in order to allow me to cope psychologically with all the pressures my life entailed.
I burned myself out at 26 by working too hard and playing too hard as a conscious rebellion, then I retreated back to the 'burbs to engage in less strenuous forms of remuneration, although not neglecting the pleasure aspect.
