Alternator issue

Was cruising eariler and noticed the ABS check light came on and cruise turned off. I decided to turn off and get some food... well the turn siganl ticked really slow, and the second I parked the engine died. Some what of good timing, I guess.

Long and short, my alternator is not charging, and I think it is because of an oil leak that has started around my front timing cover. Oil has gotten everywhere.

If I understand it correctly the only thing that should have gotten damaged is the Voltage regulator. Is that difficult to replace? I am trying, of course, to not replace the alternator that has already been replaced once before.

Thanks in advance
