Here are the numbers
My engine I am planning on rebuilding:
616 912 12 086860.

Engine that they have already rebuild that is for sale at a very economical price:
615 912 10 074644. What model/year would this be out of?

I went and looked at it and it looks pretty "new" - having never been run since the rebuild. Took a peek inside the oil fill cap and it was spotless. I did notice that it has the "old" style glow plugs. Would this engine work in a '83 240D with a minimum amount of trouble?
