I had just completed this fix on an 84 ,the air cleaner bracket was broken and needed a weld to fix,after all was said and done I was out 7.50 for the new rubber air cleaner mounts and a six pack for the welded bracket.I like the setup that original came but your the owner not us.If you mounted a different section and got that filter to the front you would be better off.
