I am convinced that the "special" fluid is simple being synthetic. Before this special fluid, MB was just using regular DEX III. They insisted on sythetic on the 722.6 so they demand this special fluid. It is special because it is synthetic.

Another supporting evidence is that this special fluid can also be used on 722.3 which used DEX III.

Furthermore, the newer special fluid for the 722.9 can also be used on the 622.6 and 722.3.

In another word, the newer special special fluid is compatible with the special fluid and is compatible with DEX III and is compatible with . . .?
