With the front on stands, I did attempt to lift from the rear pad. The car lifted off of the front stand, which was not acceptable.
I did jack it on the differential, which works but flexes stuff enough that you should be afraid.
It's now up on four stands, two on the front frame member where it joins the body, the rear on stands sitting right inside of the rear pads. It seems quite stable.
It's draining its differential fluid now. I've never gotten a really close look at the flex disks before, since only the front was up. The rear looks perfectly good, but there are some surface cracks in the rubber on the front. I suppose it's time.
