I recently did a manual 200D -> 617.952 using the drive shaft and linkage from my euro. If you dont have the 300D drive shaft you probably wont be happy, alot of people complain about vibrations (300D has a vinbration dampener). I dont know about 240D autos but I can get you the specs on what a 300D drive shaft should be. Length doesnt have to be ALL the precise. My 200D had about 1.5" of exposed vanes where the shafts meet up.
