On my 350SD you don't have to remove the fan or drain radiator fluid to replace the belt. A loose fan shroud is all that is required.

The pump is easy to rebuild, except the clip that holds the shaft from the back side is not easy to remove. It took two people and three screw drivers. On this next one I am going to put a rubber band around the vanes of the pump so they don't fall out and they go back where they came from.
