I use a simple Excel sheet, which consists of three pages. One page tracks fuel consumption, graphs mileage and cost per gallon on a chart, and keeps a running track of average MPG. The next page tracks and tallies all costs of maintenance (parts, labor etc), plus part numbers for future reference, and links to the first page to keep a running overall cost per mile. Third page simply keeps a log of work done, date and mileage. Nothing fancy.
