Is the problem always present? Or does it just do it once in a while? If the air filter housing isn't properly fitted to the air mass sensor, it can almost kill the engine when coming to a stop after a short run. Just pull the air filter up gently from the air mass sensor. It should take considerable effort to detach it. If it comes right off, you've found the problem. If it's tight, you may want to check the ignition wires. I see lots of them go bad after about 50K.
