Let me add that I have searched the forums and can't find my exact problem.

I just put a used engine into my 1990 420 SEL and now the aux fan comes on when I turn the key and the idle is about 1300-1500. Unplugging the ICV makes no difference. Do I have a connector that is loose, or do I need to be sure that I have the cooling system purged before I worry about idle speed, etc. Could an air bubble in the thermostat and temp. sensor area caus this?
