I'm 90 miles south in St. Charles County and while Hannibal is OK for an afternoon, I can't imagine what you would do for more than 12 hours there, but there are some neat old homes up on the hill overlooking town. There was a bookstore "downtown" in an old bank building the last time we were there, but that was 2+ years ago.
