Some 240Ds do not have this. It is on the front cross member and holds a L shaped piece that will cut a hole in the 617's oil pan. Remove the nut and the L, the bolt stays because it hits the suspension before it clears the cross member.

Is this a auto or manual? If it's an auto use the original 240D driveshaft and tranny cross member. If it is a stick you have to get a bit more creative.
