Is there any way to test a seat recognition sensor?

I read through a bunch of posts regarding the seat recognition sensor. Most people pay $130, I just got a cost of $250 for a 2002 E430 4MATIC.

I had the prob where the light would go on and off when someone sat in the seat. Took it all apart and found a wire was broke. I fixed that and I am still getting the light.

To further complicate things, last ice storm I slid down a driveway and damaged the 3/4 of one side of the car (@ $6K) and so I don't know if I might have tripped a sensor.

So the other question is, I ordered an OBDII reader. Will I be able to retrieve the codes for the SRS system with an OBDII reader?

Or is there a way to check the seat recognition sensor with a volt/ohm meter to test it to see if its still good?

Thanks!
