Hmmm...here's a twist. I took the advice above and moved the mirror adjustment control to the passenger side (it was set for the driver mirror). Great success! When I put the trans in reverse, the mirror tipped -- just like I'm used to in my BMW. Yay!

But... When I shifted back into park, the mirror did not recover -- it remained aimed down and in. Likewise, when I shifted from reverse to drive (or any gear below drive), the mirror still failed to recover.

Only pressing the mirror control back to the driver's side causes the passenger mirror to recover its proper driving position.

So, anyone got such an easy fix to this little twist?!
