The only way people are going to conserve is if fuel prices go way up. Prices increase with demand, we use significantly more fuel than we refine; until we change that balance prices will never come down. Ironically we won't conserve until prices force us to, so the big gas guzzling SUV's may lead the way to conservation as they will be hit the hardest.
