My 1992 300SE had a bad wiring harness (deteriorating insulation), a failed Electronic Throttle Acutator, 1 transmission, an A/C evaporator, and a blower motor regulator to note....

I loved the car and the only reason that it's gone is because it was stolen @ about 200,000 miles. I kept her mint and she was worth all the money i spent on her. A W140 is an absolute dream to cruise in!!!

I used to get compliments all the time. Most people never knew how old the car was or how many miles were on her! My favorite, the automatic door closer and power trunk handle. Never gave me a problem.

After all is said, this $72,000 car (that i bought for $12,000) cost me
$12,000 in repairs. Total loss- $24,000. Insurance gave me $10,000.00. even with the mileage consideration.

If you can afford the repairs/ maintenance or if you can get one in great condition, i would not hesitate to own one of these Elegant Beasts-
