Change the torque converter at the same time. I think the only "special" tool you'll need is an extra large socket for the tailshaft coupling nut. To refill it, you need to study the refill procedure, and you'll need the dipstick tool.

Also, I bet you'll find the oil to black and full of metal. This means your trans cooler lines and trans cooler is also full of this material. You'll need to flush it out before you connect to the fresh tranny.

Be nice to the counter guy at the Benz dealer, and he'll sell you the special trans oil for about 7 bucks a liter. if you are not nice, he'll charge you 15 bucks a liter.
