Folks,

I started the R&R of the preglow harness last night ( listening to the Sabres WIN on the radio! ), and the non-pre glow part of it ( the flapper sensors, the themo hookup at therm housing, the other on on the head, and two hookups to the IP ( wish I knew what they all are ), route through the cowl and enter the battery box.Havent removed the battery yet, but HOPE to find the multi-pin connector down there, my question is....

how do you snake the hanrness through the cowl? There is a very small slot ( covered by sound insulation), btu I cant see how the multi-pin connector goes through there.

Anyone BTDT!? There must be a way of doing this correctly without hacking anything up. TIA!

Also exactly what is the device mounted behind the IP? There is, what I thought was a vaccum line strapped to the preglow harness cover, but I dont think its a vaccum line. Starts at "the device: ( a 7"x4" box) and terminates near the GP relay, into what looks like a solenoid, and continues on from there up to the brake booster area and disapperas into the firewall. Is it the vacuum pump?
