I had the same problem with my 94 E320 just shutting off without warning, turned out to be the OVP. Just yesterday though after changing the spark plugs I seemed to upset the original wiring harness and now it misses like mad. I cut open the covering around the wires that go to the coils and discovered I had the dreaded disentigrating wiring harness, which I am sure I was causing the misfire because when I fiddled with the wires the car would run great for a sec and then back to running like a sick cow. Made me sick to have to pay over $800 for a wiring harness but I had no choice. To make a long story short (is that possible now?) there is no loss in putting in the new harness because sooner or later you will need a new one for sure, but if your problem persists make sure to check out the OVP.
