2 days ago I did a fluid/filter change on my 300TD's transmission. The filter kit was made by Elring (Germany). One piece of paper that came with this kit listed all the models it fit. The W124 series is not listed. It list both gas and diesel models though. The 107 SLs, the turbo W123's, W126 350 SD, W140 SD, W140 400SE and SEL, W140 S420 and the W201 (190Es). I think that if there is some difference in the trans. between gas and diesel, it doesn't mean they can't have the same filter and pan shape. I have a catalog, one of many, and it list your transmission as a 722.317
