Speaking as the youngish (31) owner of a slow sedan (300SD) fast sedan (Quattro) and real sports car (240Z)- I just find cars without a door for each row of seats to be a weird compromise. Yes, a gang of four can ride up just as easily in a 560SEC as in a 560SEL, but the "clambering" out of the back seat just seems undignified. I think the SWB W126 is the best styling job of the three available, and Audi made the turbo quattro as a sedan (used price $1500) or a smaller coupe ($10,000 for a nice one, no more performance than the sedan)...
Yes, the coupe is more desirable. More desirable than a TQ sedan, a W126, and a 240Z for less money than a coupe? not for me. I'll take the Z when I'm feeling coupe-ish.
