In the photo, #5 is the fuel line and it connects to the accumulator which is either #2 or #57, depending on how you look at it. For sure, the line has to come off.
I went thru is last spring when my 126 300-SELs fuel pump gave up the ghost.
While I was at it, I replaced virtually everything in the area: pump, accum, filter, hoses, tank strainer, etc.
There was a "special" hose about a foot long that I had to order from an MB dealer. None of the WEB sellers showed it in their online catalogs. I want to say it's #35(black hose) in the photo. Other types of hose just didn't fit right.
