Caramba, por seguro, Ernesto!!! The Classic Center in the OC would be great. Hell, if Nor Cal could pull 25 cars, (mostly from a push from the W123 diesel drivers) just imagine what you guys could do!!!

Are the pics of the Peru dealer current? I'll give them a call.

Darn, no. The lone Mercedes dealer in Peru now is DIVEMOTOR S.A. and has been for years.

BTW, did you see the article in April's Mercedes Enthusiast magazine?
It had a nice write up about old Benzes in Cuba. Not as many Benzes as old Chevys, but enough to make me want to go and visit.

Damn, I missed it. I really need to subscribe. I used to read those in the Bay Area, where they sell them, but you can't get them here.
And yah, I myself almost went to Cuba, just for the cars. I'd love to see those, I could identify most of them by year and make, I grew up with them.
I believe there is at least one '57 300SL down there....
Those Cubans are amazing, every American car there is a family treasure, and what they'll do to keep them going: Use grandmother's hairnet to fix an air filter, medical enema tubing to replace leaking fuel lines, put in a Soviet diesel tractor engine in an old Buick.....
There is a Museo de Transporte that even has Camilo Cienfuegos' 1960 Oldsmobile 88 in it, supposedly.

Americans can skirt the embargo by going in through Cancun or Canada, supposedly. Cuban customs officials are agreeable to not stamping the US passports coming or going, so Americans won't get hassled at US customs.
In the end, I passed though, I didn't want to bust the embargo, which is in place for good reasons. It's hard to do anything that would lend support to the same Communist dictator that once allowed ICBMs pointed at the USA and brutalized his people.

BTW, this is a REALLY old thread!

Beautiful, clean fleet of cars you have there, Ernesto.....They seem to be as nicely kept up cosmetically as Enrique takes care of them mechanically. The TE looks like it has its first high mileage badge, and the Euro lights set them off so well. You really need to get an E60 and a cabrio to round out the 124 collection......
