Title pretty much explains my problem. I just got a 1985 300sd with 256k on it and this is the first thing that's annoying me. It is a US (LHD) model and the sound is coming from the left side, appears to be behind the instrument cluster or steering colum.

Any reply is going to save me a lot of troubleshooting headache.
