The diesel isn't sold in NY state anyways. NY and several other northeastern states adopted California emissions a few years ago. No diesels there.

Several years ago MB adopted a strategy to sell vehicles at sticker price. The spread between what the dealer pays and the sticker is actually quite small. Looking at edmunds.com the invoice on the ML is ~$59K. There's also a $3K incentive and 1.9% financing on the car right now (at least in my zip code - yours may vary).

Last year I bought a new MB (for a relative...) which had a $5K incentive. Some dealers planned to pocket the full $5K and would not budge off full sticker. Others offered about $6K off.

I doubt you'll get 10% off. If you manage 6,7, or 8% it would seem to be a good offer.
