Nascar is all about the show and business.
The penalty they handed is pretty severe. losing a hundred points pretty much eleimnates him from championship contention.
No sense hurting the whole team for the driver's tantrum (I suspect Nascar may be thinking).
Personally, running into folks deliberately is not racing and should be met with a ban whether it is on the track or in the pits, but that is not how nascar has ever run things. (IE Earnhardt senior would have been banned if I were King).
A little of that goes a long way. I suspect Penske will not stand for such antics for long.
Kurt (as Tony is) is a fantasticly skilled driver who can really wheel it and has the guts to put the car in places on the track and get away with it. Although I really don't much care for either of them as people I do love to watch them move the car around on the track.
I really hate it when any driver drives dirty and spins folks out to win though.
Even the angelic Jeff Gordon spins folks to win if enough money is riding on the race or if he is really hungry for a win. (By the way, his new wife is simply amazing!)
Just me.
