That's my philosophy regarding the 85 Ca. straight pipe vs. converting to fed. I really don't think there is much more benefit to convert it vs. a straight pipe. Have you already taken your trap off or do you rely on the car as a daily? Perhaps you can measue it, I remember a while back someone posted a prototype of a bypass pipe, maybe if you take a picture of that with some measurements you can get a bid... Just a thought.
