Nope. NYC Rats will and can chew through anything up to CIP/Ductaline and A36 Steel.I have seen holes thru concrete foundation walls, PVC, PEX, Copper, Bronze, Lead, up to 8x8 timbers...you name it.

Here in NY PEX is OK for baseboard & fintube/plate heating runs but not for human consumption water. OK for the toilet and such but Copper is code for the humans.
