I have had a few close calls where the hand of God brakes saved the day. The worst was on I95 a couple years ago. Because of an accident traffic went from 70-0 instantly. I nailed the brakes for all they were worth and came to a stop 10ft behind the SAAB in front of me, who did the same. Late model SAAB's have good brakes. The late model Accord that was behind me ended up in the break down lane just about even with me.
Accords have crappy brakes...
The later W126's at least need wider tires to fully use the braking power. The little stock 205's just lose traction and trip the ABS. Put some meat on the wheels for better results.
