There was a little Amish girl riding a bicycle (probably 6 or 7 yr old) and I just pulled over kinda easy like to pass her; got over in the oposing lane to give her lots of room. I had been cruisin' about 60, but let off as I came up and pulled out. Just then, and old couple in a Lincold deside to do a rolling stop at the dirt road that I (and the little girl) are about 25 feet from. I slammed the brakes and pulled back into my lane. Left some nice little spotted patches on the road!

And that's with Goodyear TriplTreds!!!

The funny part is the couple in the Lincoln gave me a dirty look, and for all the commotion and moaning tires behind her; the little girl didn't even look back or act alarmed....
Was sure glad for those brakes then.
This spring, I was traveling a different back road and a guy was driving an old farmall with a trailer. turned out he was going to get wood from a fencerow that had been cut down. I pulled over easy-like to pass him, and as I came up almost even to him, he swings to the left to turn into the field!

I layed the wheel over and hit the brakes with all that was in me. They promply locked up upon leaving the pavement, so I just turned the front wheels completely sideways, which caused em to plow through the soft dirt in the field I had landed in after rumbling throught he ditch.. I figured I'd probably ripped my exhaust loose and gotten royally stuck. the guy on the tractor jumped off and came running up to my car all apologetic, his eyes as big as saucers. "That's some of the best driving I've ever seen!" he said!

I brushed it off, told him I was fine, put the car in gear, and drove out of the field and onto the road. Checked to be sure everything was still attached underneath, and proceeded to leave.....
