That is a task best suited for a gauge cluster completely removed from the car and dismantled. The clear plastic covering the cluster is glued on, so it needs to be carefully removed at the edges with a sharp blade.

You'll need a flat surface to work on in order to place the carbon fiber facing on properly.

Might as well get custom white gauge-faces while you are at it...
