Well getting the door open should not be that much trouble. Finding the cause of the leak is.
Open your trunk and take out the side wall covering. You may need a flash light. Once the sidewall is out(some can be stubborn) look way up from inside the trunk in the direction of the fuel filler pipe. There you will see the vacuum thingy. Follow the vacuum line(attached to it) to a place where it T's off. Disconnect. Attach line to a vacuum source(I just use my mouth) alright, alright no snickering) and at the same time have someone open the fuel door.
Is your locking mechanism working? If so then the leak may be in the fuel door vacuum thingy. I would also suspect the pin that actually locks the door may be hanging up too.
