If your battery hasn't quit on you by this posting you can safely assume that the charging system is working correctly. A battery that is not being charged or charged properly will simply not stay charged for very long.
The most common cause of the SRS light in W202 is one of the front seat belt buckles going bad. Retrieve the code and replace the suspect buckle if necessary.
