I have used the flip-up type in a prior W126, put one one each door (4 total) and dyed them with SEM to match. They worked great and looked factory original. Don't worry - there are no wires or vacuum lines, etc. that can be damaged. And the screws don't go deep enough to interfere with the window track or regulator.
