Hi, I have a project 82 240d that I'm in the process of changing to manual. I've changed the pedals and shifter, the next step is to put in the engine and transmission. I have a 4 speed manual transmission from a buid dated July '80 240d, but I have to source an engine. My question is: does it matter what year engine I find as long as it's from a w123 240d? Also, does it matter if it's from a manual or auto car?
