A rare one for sure....

This could gain traction for someone who wants a rust free W116 diesel at any price. It's really tough these days to
find them rust free, not to mention museum quality condition. They only made them in 1979-1980, and only for the United States, so they are not that common, anyway. Some people just loved these.

Anything can be restored, but it's only original once. This one looks very nice.

It even seems to have the books and maybe records, too. For that many years and owners, that is a big plus, to still have them.

But what an awful color, some kind of pea green. Silver is the default color, and a non metallic pastel, or a dark metallic would be much nicer.

If the car had some regular exercise and there are no rotten rubber parts, and someone used diesel purge, put in all new filters, drained the tank, made sure all fluids were pretty new, the brakes not frozen, the AC worked, etc. it would be a car to really start using....

The seller is really new, but Midwesterners are pretty honest, and he is up front about the price. If he can connect with the right buyer, it will be good for all.

A car like that would last someone a long time, and would probably be better enjoyed that tucked away in a museum. It's life story would be pretty interesting to know.
