I assume we are talking about the W123 300D in his profile, putting that info in the signature would be helpful. Regarding the oil leak, in my experience it's usually the gauge itself (I've replaced mine twice). I would either fix it now or make sure you have the tools and fittings to cap off the line if it starts leaking seriously on the road.
