Yes it will move...doesn't shudder..just begins to move with significant slipping. Curiously enough there is a fair amount of play in the shift lever...It was there before this event without any trouble. Maybe just a coincidence. Since I posted this thread I moved the shift lever around at the R on the trans shift assembly and it did go solidly into reverse. I can not figure out the fluid leaking and I have not yet been able to repeat the solid shift into reverse. Thanks fro your reply.
