always helps to know what the *story* is....you'll learn that as you post more.
If you are trying to determine if the fuel in the tank is bad, or if it is the engine itself, then set up a temporaty tank in the engine compartment and run it off of fresh D2 the same as if you were going to do a DP.
If it still smokes, a valve adj would be in order and if that doesnt help then a comp test.
