The Euro-Benzes did not have reinforced side-beams built in the door frames.
The Euro-Benzes used smaller, less effective bumpers that may have looked sleek, but did little to protect the body of the car in low speed impacts.

The Euro-Benzes, due to a lack of equipment and safety devices, were considerably lighter, had a huge engine model range (taxation per displacement), and, due to the lack of smog equipment, had higher peak hp.
