When I replaced the evaporator in my 124, my new EV was labeled as being for 134A. I questioned it and was told that there was no difference.

It works very well in my R12 system.

Are you sure about the weights when you were charging? The idea is to have just enough refrigerant to send a solid liquid stream from the condenser to the EV. That is what the sight glass shows you. If you have good pressures and no bubbles, you should be in good shape.

What were the pressures after you removed that last pound? Did you have any airflow over the condenser when you took the readings?
