Get more opinions in regards to the paint condition. If a good detailer can work some magic, bring the car wash your bill.

If it can't be repaired, get written statements from a few shops. Then get quotes from body shops about a repaint. (Whole car and affected parts)

Ask the car wash for a total repaint, then they might settle to paint the affected panels. Can't hurt to try -- be very courteous.

Also, it sounds like they've admitted guilt (??) They screwed up, so should fix it -- the way it was before you had it washed.
