The trouble is an $8000 engine doesn't make an 84 300D worth $8000. If you get into an accident, even if it's not your fault, you'll get a check for $2000. It'll probably cost you $8000 in lawyer's fees to get a penny more. If you go this route, make sure you get stated value coverage.

Have you considered a 90-93 300D 2.5? Pull the stars off it and no one at work will know what it is.

More than a new engine, you need a new job. Or at least a new perspective. Walking on eggshells so you don't upset people at work is straining your subconscious. It's already affecting your basic judgment. Get out of that environment before you lose it![/psychology 101]

Get the E300 you should be driving then put a bumper sticker that says "This car cost me less than a new Kia."
