Story 1)
I had a brother and sister in law who parked in NYC overnight. I told them to put the car, a new Jetta, in a garage but they did not listen to me. My brother in law took o ut the radio but left his old ratty basketball sneakers in the car. The next morning the window was broken, the sneakers were gone and about $3800 damage was done to the interior. The crackheads ripped up the seats, broke the speedometer and all the gauges, etc. Guess they were mad about the radio being out of the car!
Story 2)
I worked at Columbia University back in the late '80s I had to drive my '67 GTO convertible in one day and had to park on the street. I removed the coil wire as a precaution and left it unlocked. When the local crackheads broke in, they did not have to cut up the top. They did a nice clean job removing the Jensen AM/FM radio in the car and did not mess anything up. Best of all the darn thing was already broken! I had learned about p---ing off the crackheads from story number 1
