it should be firm but linear. Not soft like a way boosted pickup truck system, which needs to be made to be tapped and enlarged, not firm but shot travel like some other cars, it should stop quite well with a little pressure and little travel on the pedal. At the same time it is linear in stopping fore and thus deceleration at speed.
