Yep.........the W123 is cable driven.........so, I can't suggest my really cool solution on the SD: an electronic speedometer recalibrator. Takes the signal and gives you any output you wish. So, my odometer is accurate within .1% even with the much larger tires. If I change to 15" wheels (next tire change), I still can get accuracy within the same .1%.
It's fantastic. Definitely worth the $80. Sorry........you cannot use it.
