Hi Bob,

If done properly and using properly de-watered and filtered fuel, most diesels will last LONGER with a 2 tank WVO system than they will on diesel alone. After 25 years of running WVO, I feel the order of importance is:

1. Proper de-watering of the fuel
2. Enough heat in the WVO fuel path
3. Filtering the oil.

Yes, I think filtering is less important than de-watering. If you don't filter the oil well enough, you will just plug your onboard filter. If you don't de-water properly, you will reduce the life of your engine or ruin it compleatly.
